SEVEN'S CYSTS AND SPOTS | Minor but consistent, not to mention persistent, spots and cysts...luckily Seven is too chilled out to be very bothered

Seven doesn't suffer from any serious health problems but has almost always had small cysts in between the toes on one or more feet. She also occasionally develops boil-like spots around her spine, down her back and on her shoulders. I don't think these are anything to worry about but we do occasionally have a go at resolving them - naturally of course.

Seven also has trouble with her ears and although I am not sure why I am certain this is linked to the skin irritations. Her ears get very waxy (and smelly) for a few days then the wax hardens and they clear up again. The cycle repeats ad infinitum. I have tried various washes and homeopathic remedies for her ears, some of which have provided temporary relief, but these treatments have never stopped the problem returning. Seven does shake her head when her ears are all gunky but otherwise it doesn't seem to cause her much distress. Seven has been following a regime of treatment from Herbaticus for her skin and this has perhaps slowed the waxy ear cycle.

When the spots are numerous Seven takes supplements from Herbaticus for her skin. Progress can be frustratingly slow. Again this goes to prove that whilst natural treatments can be given with no worry about side-effects they don't always work quickly and you must be patient. At one stage the supplements were changed in order to address deeper seated conditions with the hope this would bring about greater progress. Pet owners may witness the condition apparently worsening before getting better but the cycle should increase and the condition improve with each cycle - this is certainly what happened to Cyd.

"Aah, that's better, now I'm really comfortable..."

There have been days where Seven would rattle if you shook her! Occasionally she has taken 21 pills and capsules per day! The latest regime from Herbaticus was (daily) 6 x 1809 capsules; 6 x 1870 capsules; 6 x 809 pills and 3 x 1892 capsules, the latter being given for three consecutive days with four days off. You can read more about this regime for skin problems here. By the way if you click on the other skin page on Herbaticus' website you might see a little hairy face you recognise!

Update: Seven still gets small outbreaks now and again, and her ears still get smelly and waxy sometimes, but these are not health issues that overly concern me. By feeding her a natural, healthy diet and supplementing with products from Herbaticus I know I am doing the best I can for her. It's worth noting that some health complaints can repeat themselves in naturally occurring cycles. For example, I rarely "treat" Seven's stinky ears these days because I have learnt they will get better on their own within a few days. However I will keep them as clean as I can for her (using olive oil or a weak solution of Hypericum and Calendula tincture) so they irritate her less.
